Lessons NOT Learned – Stonepigs

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up by over 300 points so far today and it’s being framed as a big positive response to an announcement by Citigroup that they’ve been profitable for the past two months.

Clearly, people with money to burn, or “invest” as I’m sure they prefer to think, haven’t learned their lessons over the past 6 months. What has changed about the folks who operate Citigroup that gives them any credibility today? Isn’t this the same group of people that couldn’t run their operations well enough, or with enough honesty, to avoid this huge economic mess in the first place?
